SSDs are no doubt the
quickest way to make the most speed increase in an
older computer system. I/O has been the
tightest bottleneck in computers, and innovations in
that arena is not as dramatic as those in CPUs,
graphics, or even memory.
Here, we will present
benchmark data on several popular SSDs run on an
average computer system, running Windows 7 x64.
The test bench is an AMD 785 chipset board with a
Phenom II 965 with 4GB of DDR3 memory. This
page will be updated as more SSDs are tested.
