SATA II and SAS RAID CARD ROUNDUP
RAID-6 Summary
RAID-6 is a newly popularized RAID level similar
to RAID-5, but the difference being two parity
blocks are involved instead of just one. This
increases throughput by reducing individual disk
bandwidth, but reduces the overall data storage
capacity. All the controllers except the
HPT-1820A supports RAID-6.

LSI greatly suffered here in the writes.
This might be attributed to the lack of
initialization. However, none of the other
arrays /cards were initialized either because of
time constraints. As for the ASR-31605, it did
not like this test either. Areca still on top.

Same situation here. Some cards show
minimal improvement with the larger zone size test,
but the EX16300 jumped the most in the write speeds.

Areca is now truly showing its superior engine,
besting all cards in all tests. Like previous
benchmarks, the ARC-1220 outperforms all in the
larger data sizes, whereas the smaller ones are
dominated by the ARC-1680 and ARC-1261ML.
