WESTERN DIGITAL RAPTOR X 150GB

Introduction

When WD launched the 74GB 2nd-generation Raptor, it simply blew everything else out of the water, including many 15k SCSI drives when benched for non-server use.  Many enthusiasts loved it performance, and wondered when a new version would come out.  It took a few years, but WD eventually released this latest version of the Raptor, sporting 150GB of storage, 10k RPM spindle speed, and doubled the cache to 16MB.  Again, it simply picked up where the 74GB left off, leaving a plume of smoke on its way to the finish line.

But wait, this Raptor X has something special - a "bonus", if you will.  Yes, like many modders out there wanting to show off their creations with windows and clear acrylic PC cases, this Raptor is definitely X-rated.  It has a clear top, allowing a full view of its spinning platters and arm work its magic.  And because it was made that way by WD, no warranties were broken here.
