| Western Digital WD740GD
Conclusion
With its stellar performance at or beyond those
of some 15k SCSI drives, the 74GB Raptor will surely
continue to take bites out of its SCSI competition.
In workstation usage, this drive proves to be an
excellent choice for boot up duties, as well as a
scratch disk too. The best part is that its
cost per gigabyte is far below that of SCSI drives.
It has a ways to go in competing against some of
today's newest (and very fast) 7200 RPM mega-drives,
but I'm sure WD has a new Raptor successor waiting
to be released from its cage.
