WESTERN DIGITAL RE2
Introduction
Western Digital is
currently best known for its Raptor series of hard
drives. The recent launch of the 150GB Raptor
and clear-cover Raptor X further cemented Western
Digital's loyalty among performance enthusiasts,
gamers and modders. However, Western Digital
also offers large-capacity 7200 RPM drives for the
desktop, known as the Caviar SE16, available up to
500GB. The WD RE2 is the "enterprise" version
of the Caviar SE16 HDD. Like the Seagate
Barracuda ES, the RE2 is designed for server
applications. It boasts a 1.2 million hour
MTBF, and a 5-year warranty.
