SEAGATE SAVVIO 10K.3


For those that need a bit more capacity over speed, Seagate also has a 10k RPM Savvio drive.  Here, we look at the third-generation model, called the Savvio 10k.3.  Here are its specs:

In RAID-0, we see that this pair closes the gap with the 15k.2 RAID-0 array very closely!   

Although not 15k, these Savvio 10K.3 drives are nothing to sneeze at.  Besides, the only other 10k drives you can get are those WD Raptors, and those are SATA units, not exactly made for enterprise use.  These Savvios were built for reliability, and Seagate offers the 10K.3s with a hefty 300GB of space.  Impressive performance, great capacity, and small size - what's not to like?
