In the '60s, some of man's greatest technological achievements came to
life. One of the most impressive is the Saturn V rocket, which
propelled astronauts to the moon. It was very big, and very fast.
It stretched over 363 feet high, and was 33 feet wide at the base.
It's first stage achieved a speed of 5,300+ miles per hour, and
eventually exceeded escape velocity of 6.2 miles per second.
That's fast.
Seagate also has things that are very big and very fast too.
They are their Barracuda 7200.9 and 7200.10 hard disks. The 7200.9
can store up to a staggering 500GB worth of data, while the
7200.10 has a mind-bending, industry-first 750GB maximum capacity.
Wow.
How much space is 750GB? About 159 DVD movies (at 4.7GB each),
1097 DIVX movies (at 700MB each), 192,000 MP3s (at 4MB each), or close
to 4 million JPEGs (at 200k each). Wow.
We know how much space each drive contains, but how does it perform?
Let us find out...
