Fujitsu MAY2073RC

Fujitsu has quietly made very fast drives for enterprise applications in recent years.  Their U320 SCSI drives came close and sometimes exceeded the 15K Cheetahs.  Best of all, it did not carry the same price premium as the Seagates or Maxtors.  So let's find out what the MAY2073RC is made of, and how well it does in the benchmarks...

Manufacturer's Specifications:

With a 10K spindle speed and 16MB of cache, it looks like this drive will not fare well against the faster 15K units later on.  However, the 5-year warranty and 1.4M hr. MTBF rating are reassuringly impressive.
