Okay, here is where the 7K100 proves its worth. First, we have the HD Tach 3.0.1.0 RW 8MB zone test. Compare this result to the Seagate Momentus 5400.3 which showed a burst speed of Burst: 57.6 MB/s, Ave. Read: 36.2 MB/s, Ave. Write: 27.8 MB/s, CPU: 7%, Random Access: 19.2 mS.

Next, is the 32MB zone test. The Momentus 5400.3 had the following results: Burst: 91.2 MB/s, Ave. Read: 36.3 MB/s, Ave. Write: 33.6 MB/s, CPU: 6%, Random Access: 17.5 mS.

Lastly, the variable zone test. Again, the Momentus 5400.3 had the following test scores: Burst: 91.6 MB/s, Ave. Read: 36.3 MB/s, Ave. Write: 36.1 MB/s, CPU: 3%, Random Access: 16.9 mS.

Below, we have the ATTO benchmark results for the 7K100. Pretty good test results for a laptop drive.
