There are a few notable points to consider when purchasing a 2.5" HDD.
As shown in the specs above, the warranty periods are not bad, with
Seagate having the longest at 5 years. Also, check the
manufacturer's specs and you may want to consider shock ratings if the
device hosting the HDD is prone to mechanical shock and abuse.
Lastly, check power consumption ratings as well. If you are on
battery power, that parameter may affect your device's usable life
dramatically.
As for performance, we intend to find out which drive is the fastest.
All the HDDs sport an 8MB buffer and a parallel-ATA 100MB/S interface.
The difference lies in the rotational speed, and of course, its general
design. |
