Western Digital was known as the gamer's choice for HDDs because of its Raptor series, and RE (RAID-Edition) hard drives. But when it came to designing a 1TB monster, WDC went totally conservative. It built its 1TB drive with power efficiency as its primary design consideration. Hence the name, "Green Power".
