This last set of storage benchmarks tells us that using the
ICH5R for RAID operations results is tremendous disk I/O
performance, significantly more than the on-board Promise
RAID. The only drawback is the fact that there are
only two SATA connectors available for the ICH5R. It
is very possible to use a combination of both hardware RAID
subsystems plus the software RAID used in Windows.
