SILVERSTONE  TECH TEMJIN TJ05 FULL TOWER ATX CASE

Package Contents

CLICK ON THE IMAGES FOR A LARGER VERSION

The TJ05 comes in a massive yet sturdy full-color glossy box:

Specs and content are listed on the side of the box:

Inside, the TJ05 sits face-up nestled safely between two large Styrofoam supports, enclosed in a large plastic bag.  As you can see, the walls of the shipping box are double-thick.

Here is the left side of the TJ05, showing the large window, still protected with plastic film..

This is a close-up of the lower right corner of the left side.  The object on the left is the TJ05 user guide, with its reflection bouncing off the VERY GLOSSY mirror-like paintjob of the left side panel.  You can also see the flash bouncing off the brushed aluminum front panel.

The user guide is a one-page foldout grayscale guide with plenty of photos and info.  However there were no details on how to operate the LCD panel, or details on the included wires and cables for the front-panel connectors and fans.

Here is the front view of the TJ05.  The whole front panel is made of brushed aluminum.  Note the included LCD display.  More on that later.  The bottom holds the buttons and LEDs, but also serves as the air intake for the fan.

Here you see the lock on the left side of the front panel.  Engaging the lock prevents opening of the side panel.

Again, the TJ05 and its reflection of the top of the case.

Here is the right side, also very glossy.  There are four USB ports, one 1394 port, and two audio ports (pink and green) on the right side of the front aluminum panel.  Also, you can see holes on the right side for air intake to the HDD cage cooling fan.

Opening the door to the drive bays, we see the covers, also made of brushed aluminum.  Note that the door swings to the left only.  It is held in place by a latching mechanism that is push-to-open and push-to-close.

A closer view of the left side and the window.  The lower part of the window has holes for air intake for the two motherboard fans.

The rear view is that of a typical case.  Important aspects here are the 120mm exhaust fan and the removable power supply mounting plate.

The feet are basic plastic swing-out supports, which are prone to breaking if they are extended and the case is tilted to its side.

The inside.  Note the bottom plate over the motherboard.  This holds two 80mm fans, two 3.5" HDDs, and swings out to the right.  Motherboard tray is NOT removable.  HDD cage on lower right.  Bottom plate, HDD cage and reinforcement bar (across top) are all removable.

The HDD cage holds 5x 3.5" HDDs.  At the back is the filter for an 80mm fan, and to the right is the 120mm intake fan.  Those 5x HDDs should be cooled pretty well!

Reinforcement bar.  You can also see into the drive bays.

Lower plate in the swing-out position.  The white plastic thing is a device that holds your expansion cards in place by a ratcheting piece of plastic that extends to the top of the card.

On the bottom of the case we have a small container for all the drive rails.  Very neat!  To the left, we have a ratcheting mechanism that holds the expansion cards in place to the chassis without the need for screws.  The 120mm fan is very clearly visible, and its nice that they put a fan guard on it.  Also, you can see the bolt pattern on the motherboard tray.  More than enough space even for full-sized 12"x13" eATX mobos.

Slightly off center to the right is a black object - this is a c-shaped piece of rubberized metal that bends out and securely holds your PSU wires neatly.

Here, you can see a small piece of metal on the right side of the photo, just where the PSU would be.  This is a small platform cleverly designed to support your PSU's weight.  Part of the reinforcement bar also does the same.

The TJ05 is one of the few cases that actually has a chassis intrusion switch.

Here are the USB and 1394 wires leading to the front-panel ports.  The 1394 connection also has each wire separated in the event that your MB's pin-out is unusual.

These are the three fan connectors and three temperature probes connected to the front panel LCD.

The fan connectors come with a piece of plastic that protects the pins, and the case from scratches during shipment.
