Logisys vs Eluminx
So what 's the difference between the Eluminx and
this Logisys keyboard? Well, the Eluminx has
the condensed layout similar to that of a laptop
keyboard, but adding the numeric keypad to the side.
Also, earlier Eluminx keyboards have their three
LOCK indicators as green LEDs, quite a contrast if
the chosen illumination was the "Sapphire", or blue
color. Its interface comes in PS/2 only.
More important to note are the keys and their
illumination. The Eluminx keys are somewhat a
translucent crystal-like character, and they make a
solid "tick" sound when pressed, provided the unit
is on a solid surface where its two rubber feet can
grip on to. Its illumination turns off after a
period of inactivity, and the color is more subtle
than shown in the photo.

The Logisys keyboard has
a full standard keyboard layout, including the
middle cluster, as shown below. Also, their
LOCK indicator LEDs are BLUE LEDs, perfectly
matching the EL illumination. This Logisys is
natively USB, but has a USB to PS/2 adapter.
Also, it has the EL on/off button, macro buttons,
and flip out support legs that raise the rear of the
keyboard to provide more inclination to the user.
The Logisys keys are
milky-white, and create a more hollow, and less
solid "tack" sound than the Eluminx. Its
illumination is a bit brighter, however I prefer the
larger backspace key of the Eluminx.

One issue found on both
keyboards is high frequency noise from the inverter
being picked up by various devices when placed close
by, or held whilst typing. For example, typing
on either keyboard while holding a phone to one's
ear gives you a not-so-pleasant yet subdued buzzing
sound. The Logisys earns points here for
having an on/off button for the EL.
