DUALTV MCE
Introduction
Whether it is skipping
commercials, rewinding to see an awesome sports
play, misunderstood dialogue, or wardrobe
malfunction, everyone knows the benefits of
time-shifting when watching TV. But what if you’d
like to record a certain series but a ball game is
also on at the same time? Having two tuners in your
Media Center PC is the answer. But what if you are
building an HTPC with only one free PCI slot?
You'd need one tuner for each program, and Windows
MCE2005 allows up to three tuners. Well,
nVidia has created a clever solution for a market problem:
two tuners in a single PCI-card, better known as the
DualTV.
DualTV MCE is a PCI expansion
card containing two analog tuners, and is available
in both NTSC and PAL flavors. Because it has two
analog tuners, it also has two A/V inputs.
Furthermore, DualTV MCE also sports an FM tuner as
well. Another version of the DualTV MCE which
contains a remote control is also available. That
package includes a “blaster” module, two wired mini
IR transmitters, and the remote itself.
