FLASH MEMORY COMPARISON

The Contestants

First, we have the Kingston products.  The Kingston 512MB Compact Flash card, part# CF/512.  These average about $20 and can be purchased at any corner drug store or retail office supply chain:

Next, also from Kingston, is a high-end USB disk.  The Kingston DataTraveler Elite is a high-end, very fast, USB 2.0 disk drive.  It also comes pre-loaded with software:

From SanDisk, we have three entries.  First is 128MB Shoot&Store Compact Flash card.  This product is also readily available nearly anyplace, and averages about $15 on the street:

Second, is the Sandisk Cruzer mini, also 128MB.  This drive averages $20 in the street, and is hi-speed USB 2.0:

The third SanDisk product is the ultra-fast, Ultra II Compact Flash card.  This CF card averages about $90, but its price varies greatly from $45 online to $120 retail:

And from Crucial, we have a single entry.  Below is their plain-vanilla 4GB Compact Flash card.  This card also averages around $90, but does not look as fast as the Ultra II above.
